Many funeral companies now offer direct cremation – meaning cremation without a ceremony or service that mourners attend. The pros and cons of direct cremation can look quite different to people who think about funerals from different perspectives. This online event, which will start with a short story about a direct cremation, is an opportunity to consider your own views in conversation with others.

The discussion is hosted by members of the team that developed the Care in Funerals Casebook – a free online resource of short stories that illustrate some of the practical and ethical concerns that can arise in funeral provision.
