Coffin Club Caledonia (Dundee & Angus)

Organised by the Dundee & Angus Group of Coffin Club Caledonia

Series of four workshops through April and May

Malmaison Hotel, Dundee

These events are open to the public.

We are a fairly new group within the UK Coffin Club network and are currently starting our next series of talks and educational events. Our aim is to demystify many of the processes and options that are available to the public when planning an end of life/funeral ceremony or memorial. We want to encourage people to think creatively about this, to plan for their own ceremony in advance and to communicate their wishes to their loved ones.

In April and May we will be hosting a series of four workshops in Dundee to which members of the public are invited. (There is no charge for this.) The events will all take place at the Malmaison Hotel in Dundee, and guest speakers will be talking about their particular area of expertise within the ‘death industry’. These will include someone from a Crematorium, a local Funeral Director, a Soul Midwife, and a representative from Dundee University Medical Centre talking about body donation, the manager of a mortuary, a celebrant, A Daisy from the PUTD Chain, the owner of a natural burial ground.

At each workshop, participants can talk around the different options available to them, and towards the end of the series of workshops we encourage them to begin the process of thinking about their own end of life event and what they would like to happen.
