Bereavement Support and Information Activities for Staff at Inverclyde Royal Hospital

Organised by Inverclyde Royal Hospital

1 - 7 May 2023.

These activities are for Inverclyde Royal Hospital staff.

As an acute hospital, Inverclyde Royal, supports patients and carers through their initial bereavement, in a compassionate and person-centred approach. When staff are bereaved, there is already a process in place to support them at the time, during, and returning to work. The Bereavement Charter Mark, which we are currently developing, will bring all the support and information together.

In Demystifying Death Week we will be providing an information stall to inform staff of the work that has been done, and what support is currently available and what we are developing on site. Alongside this there will be an opportunity for staff to be creative by painting a sun-catcher which will be hung outside in a newly developed staff space, resources for writing a poem or reflection, a memory tree of hearts, and to take and grow a sunflower at home.
