good life, good death, good grief

Death Awareness Week

Grief Ceremony

Hosted by Ilona Kastner:

The Grief Ceremony is a safe ritual space where we meet collectively to be held and witnessed in our grief.

Grief is a human response to loss. This can be the loss of a loved one, the loss of health, or a job. It can be about broken relationships, unlived dreams, or the many sorrows of the world we are living in.

When grief is not welcomed and expressed it will burden our steps and inhibit our capacity to fully live our lives. Learning how to welcome grief in its many forms and to express it mindfully can free the soul and take us deeper into our joy and love for life.

Communal grief tending is a way to deepen the sense of acceptance for oneself and the other, to cultivate an embodied knowing of “I am not alone”. We will work with movement, mindfulness practices, and circle sharing.
