good life, good death, good grief

Good Death Week 2019

From 13 - 19 May 2019, people across Scotland are going to be doing their bit to promote more open and supportive attitudes to death, dying and bereavement by taking part in Good Death Week. Organisations and individuals across Scotland hold events to mark the occasion, as well as make a noise over social media.

There are many ways to get involved.

If you'd like to do something practical yourself, at your workplace, community group or among friends and family, take a look at our resources. These include films, leaflets, conversation menus, an ACP origami game, online activities and even an art exhibition. They're all free to use.

You can also see if there are any Good Death Week events going on in your area. Full listings are available here.

Grants of up to £50 are available to help you to host a Good Death Week event. They can be used to buy refreshments, hire a space, or purchase materials for activities, for instance.

Every year, Good Life Good Death Good Grief marks Good Death Week with an award for the person or organisation that has made an outstanding contribution in the field. The Contribution to Openness About Death Award winner(s) will be announced during this year's Good Death Week.
