Contribution to Openness About Death Award

Nominees are now being sought for this year's Contribution to Openness About Death Award. The award is made each year by Good Life Good Death Good Grief to recognise individual or group contributions towards promoting more open and supportive attitudes to death and bereavement in Scotland. The winner will be decided by a panel to mark Good Death Week, 13 - 19 May.

Last year, the award was won by Hibernian FC and NHS staff for their collaboration on a match day To Absent Friends wall. Previously it has been won by film-makers Jane Harris & Jimmy Edmonds for their documentary work.

To nominate someone for the award, please e-mail robert.peacock@palliativecarescotland.org.uk with the following:

  • Name of nominee or organisation
  • E-mail address of nominee or organisation
  • Why this person or organisation should win the award (max 100 words)
  • Links to relevant information, e.g. news article, project website (where applicable)

Deadline for nominations is 31 March 2019.

A shortlist of nominees will be presented to the panel for a final decision. Winners will be announced during Good Death Week.
