Do Not Attempt Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation

Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency treatment that tries to restart your heart and breathing when they have stopped. You and your healthcare team can discuss in advance if you would benefit from CPR.

Do Not Attempt Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation is often abbreviated to DNR or DNACPR, or referred to as Do Not Resuscitate.

More information about this is available in the NHS Scotland patient factsheet on DNACPR.
