good life, good death, good grief

Make sure the right support is in place

Ensure that contact has been made with the person’s GP, and that arrangements have been made for collection and administration of any medications they provide.

If the person lives alone, arrange for a friend or family member to visit very regularly, to look after them.  Providing care or to help to a vulnerable person is classed by the UK Government as one of the acceptable reasons to leave your own home. Ideally, this should be someone who has already had COVID-19.  If that is not possible, it should be someone who is not in at increased risk of serious illness they catch COVID-19, and who isn’t in contact with someone who is in one of the high risk categories.

If you are providing support yourself, check out the NHS Inform guidance: Advice for unpaid carers providing personal care.
